The KYC procedure refers to the process where financial institutions such as banks and money service businesses ask their customers to share their identifying data to help ensure that they bring in good customers to their platform. 

The purpose of KYC is to prevent fraud, money laundering, and any other bad money activities in general. 

As a duly registered business, Afriex requires that any user who wants to make use of its services go through the KYC procedure provided via its app.

What is KYC on Afriex?

It’s a verification process that lets us know that the person using an account on Afriex is the person intended to use that account.

Why KYC on Afriex?

Our goal is to enhance and improve the experience of everyone using Afriex to perform their cross-border transactions. In order to do this, trust and safety are key pillars to achieve our vision. KYC helps to get closer to this goal.

What does this mean for you?

Moving forward we’ll need to verify your identity and we’ll collect personal information solely for the purpose of reducing fraud.

What you need to go through KYC successfully on Afriex

  • You’ll need a government issued ID and we will specify which ones we accept in the Afriex app.
  • You’ll be required to take a selfie that will need to match the ID you provided.
  • You’ll need to enter personal information such as name, date of birth, etc. This should match the data we retrieved from the ID you provided.
